The smell from fresh is an intoxicating aroma of sweet cocoa and earth.
What this guy lacks in length is definitely made up in girth. My cutter was maxed out trying to cut this 60 ring gauge cap. (4 x 60)
Cedar and dark earth are the first flavours found with a little bit of white pepper on the finish. It only takes about fifteen minutes for me to realise this is going to one strong cigar, especially since strength usually increases the shorter it gets.
I have never really enjoyed the larger gauge cigars but the flavours of cinnamon, white pepper and wood compliment well for the second third.
I did happen to get a little burn issues from time to time and this caused some sour notes to come through. Fortunately slowing down a bit and a good purge bought this cigar back to life.
The last third is by far the best. Leather, wood and a slight nuttiness round this cigar out perfectly, very enjoyable.
A short smoke isn’t always short.
