I recently visited the category of cheap Cubans, I have to say I was very disappointed with an extremely bad machine-made cigar. So I thought, hey lets run the gauntlet again!
This time I tried my luck with the Por Larranaga Pantelas which had a firm pack and just slightly above medium resistance for the cold draw.
It didn’t take long to realise that this handmade cigar was a winner, well they have been in production for nearly 150 years so they must be doing something right!
Flavour started as sweet tobacco with a hint of vanilla, from halfway there was a distinct taste of salted peanuts and cedar.
This was a very enjoyable “everyday” smoke, and would even fit well as a desert cigar.
