This is the first cigar of a Churchill sample pack I acquired. Scent from fresh can be described simply as, chocolate hay.
I usually prefer a robusto sized cigar but I wanted to see what all the fuss was about with this famous size cigar. Cigar was well made but lack of a band was disappointing.
Once lit there was a strong taste of cedar. Great draw resistance with a huge smoke output. After about twenty minutes the flavour smoothed out a little but was still quite woody with a razor-sharp burn.
Now starting the second third tobacco flavour took centre stage from the wood but still remained smooth.
Not a bad smoke, enjoyable.
