La Aurora 107 Cosecha 2007 LE

This marks my seventh encounter with a La Aurora blend, and my expectations were high.

The initial impression was reminiscent of caramel coffee, a delightful aroma that lingered from the freshly cut cap. However, I did encounter a rather sizeable stick within the cigar when I first cut it, which I couldn’t remove, and I hoped it wouldn’t pose a significant issue.

As I delved into the first third, I was greeted with flavors of raw coffee, subtle notes of leather, and earthiness. It was a promising start. However, the draw felt slightly tight, affecting the smoke output.

Moving into the second third, the flavour profile remained consistent, but I did encounter some burn issues. Notably, there was occasional tunnelling, leading to a decrease in smoke output.

By the time I reached the final third, it became evident that the construction of this cigar was subpar. As you may know, if a cigar can’t be smoked as intended, it won’t deliver its intended flavors.

I found this cigar to be overall disappointing. It’s unfortunate that construction issues marred the experience.
