It’s been awhile so I thought I would go back to my roots and see what RP has for me. Plus it’s time to break in the new Scarface ashtray from Revibed Vinyl.
I know RP has many different blends but it just tastes like a RP. This dark brown wrapper is a little less presentable than most cigars from Rocky but I’m sure it will smoke just fine.
Rich cedar and dark chocolate are the first flavours to greet me from this fine cigar. There is a pepper zing that fades almost instantly followed by trail mix, well mostly nuts and raisins.
By the time I reached the second third I have stacked a whole bunch of dimes, it really smokes beautifully. This smoke is rich and thick with a long finish of cedar and white pepper. These flavours continue to the last third where the profile changes to roasted cashews and burnt butter!
This cigar is truly balanced, strong but smooth, bitey but not overbearing, sweet at times but not overly so.
The flavour is full throughout but strength peaks barely at medium. The only complaint is that the band was a bitch to remove so I could smoke it to the nub.
