Candy corn

This is one of Privada’s Halloween releases, and it looks fantastic. Pictures really don’t do it justice — the beautifully mottled dark wrapper gives it a striking appearance that stands out immediately in hand.

This cigar comes at an interesting time for our family. We’re expecting a new addition within the next four weeks, and our two-year-old is already reminding us that life is about to get a whole lot busier. After six weeks of everyone taking turns being sick, stress levels have certainly been high, but the excitement for this next chapter far outweighs it.

From the first few draws, I’m getting flavours of warm buttered popcorn, accompanied by a light toasted sweetness that lingers pleasantly on the finish.

As the cigar settles in, notes of caramel begin to emerge alongside a gentle nuttiness that brings roasted almonds to mind. The burn has been razor-sharp throughout, and smoke production is outstanding, delivering thick, creamy clouds with almost no effort.

This is exactly the kind of cigar I enjoy—smooth, balanced, and approachable without sacrificing flavour. The nutty character remains at the forefront while a touch of white pepper adds just enough spice to keep things interesting. There’s also a faint vegetal note lingering in the background, contributing a little extra complexity without distracting from the overall profile.

The cigar smoked for around 70 minutes and remained enjoyable from start to finish. Excellent construction, great smoke production, and a flavour profile that stayed consistent throughout made this a thoroughly satisfying experience.
