This cigar has been sitting in my humidor for the last 5 months. I have been waiting for the right time to smoke this beauty, and today is the day — it’s for the celebration of my resignation. Unfortunately, not retirement but moving on from a position that made me unhappy to a world of opportunities. Wish me luck!
I first fell in love with this brand years ago when one was bought as a present for me. The idea of a truly organic cigar also spoke to me, and I was keen to try.
First, this is a beautiful cigar. Hexagon in shape is a first for me, and paired with the classic black and gold bands (foot band also), this is one good-looking cigar. The wrapper is the star here, and it feels a little thicker than most. But I guess most cigars don’t sport a 10-year-aged Colorado Claro wrapper, well, unless you’re another prestige brand like Davidoff.
The draw for such a large, solid cigar was surprisingly light. This didn’t affect the perfect smoke output one bit at all.
The flavours are quite smooth and mild, reminiscent of a “classic Cuban,” but with a better draw than most I have sampled. Cedar, mild but aged tobacco, and an increasing heat of black pepper on the finish.
I have never seen ash burn so straight; the construction is perfect. Also, the ash fell at the 60-minute mark, which is an amazing achievement and could be my personal best.
There is so much more to this cigar than I can articulate, but in laymen’s terms, this is an amazing cigar not to be missed!
