I’ve had this cigar resting in my humidor for almost exactly three years, so it felt like the right time to finally break it out.

Advertised as a “Cuban seed” cigar, anything with “Cuban” in the marketing doesn’t really sway me one way or the other these days.
Winter has properly arrived again and it’s absolutely freezing out on the balcony. The wind isn’t helping, and despite no rain being forecast, it decided to show up anyway, making it a challenge to stay dry while enjoying the smoke.
The cigar itself has a distinctly old-world character. Aged tobacco is the dominant note throughout, with a profile that feels slightly tight and restrained. Performance-wise, though, it delivered a solid burn and consistent smoke output from start to finish.
Flavour-wise, I’m mostly getting aged tobacco with a touch of burnt caramel sweetness. Pleasant enough, but fairly reserved overall.
I’ve also found it harder to fully enjoy cigars lately. My daughter has been refusing to go to sleep before 11pm most nights, which makes finding any genuine downtime a challenge. On top of that, my wife is heavily pregnant and understandably running low on energy, so things have been a little hectic around the house. It will all be worth it with baby number two on the way, but at the moment those quiet moments are few and far between.
Overall, this was an enjoyable, well-behaved cigar, but ultimately a fairly one-dimensional 45-minute smoke. Nothing wrong with it, but not one that left a lasting impression.
