El Diablo Del Desierto

Had to improvise a little with this cigar; my lighter and cutter were unfortunately in the same room as my sleeping 11-month-old daughter. If I wanted to enjoy this cigar, she needs to stay asleep, so kitchen knife and BBQ lighter in hand, this experience begins…

Successfully cutting the cap on this cigar brings me familiar but confusing flavours to my palate. Smoke is not quite present. It’s flavoursome but light, like it never existed. I’m getting some herbal flavours, some BIG RED cinnamon heat, also a quick zest of lemon pepper on the finish. Interesting, to say the least.

The direct translation is “The Devil of the Desert,” which is quite fitting for the freaky band this cigar is sporting. I like this dark wrapper, which is apparently a Mexican habano. There is a very slight box press going on here for this rough-looking cigar. I mean, an authentic-looking cigar.

I’m finding many different flavours that come and go so fast it makes you think, do they even exist? Smoke is light and powdery.

That’s pretty much all I have to say about this cigar; it was nice but quite unusual. Mild overall and reminiscent of a Gudang Garam, which really takes me back now.
