This example has been aged for 6+ years — and it definitely smells like it. Most cigars mellow with age, but the scent on this one is still intense: dark, rich, and very reminiscent of pipe tobacco.

The draw started a little tighter than expected, though smoke output was still solid. Early on I picked up rich tobacco notes with a touch of dried fruit on the finish. Unfortunately, the draw tightened up even more as it went, and the flavours turned unpleasant.
This cigar was made by Joya de Nicaragua, one of my favourite brands, but this particular example just didn’t land. Even with Privada’s extra 3 years of aging, it didn’t come together. The dominant pipe-tobacco vibe was a miss for me.
Stopped halfway through at the 43-minute mark. Not one I’d revisit, but worth trying if you’re curious.
